I use this tool all the time and in the process it gets very dull. To do an excellent job of sharpening these tools, try this procedure. Take an 8" adjustable wrench and close the jaws down to about 1/8" opening, place one of the points of the triangle in the opening. Put the adjustable wrench on the tool rest of a bench or pedestal grinder (as shown) and gently but firmly bring the opposite side of the tool into contact with the grinding wheel and smoothly pull the tool away from the grinding wheel (see drawing). Use caution to keep from overheating the tip of the tool. It takes a little bit of practice but it is not that difficult and it works great. And by the way, once you have this tool sharpened, it is one of the best tools to use for cutting scotch brite. Simply put the scotch brite pad flat on a wooden surface. Press down hard on the tool with a sharp edge into the scotch brite and pull towards you. Courser scotch brite may require a few extra pulls.
